I In response to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, Heart of Florida United Way has established a fund to support Central Florida residents whose financial stability is being impacted. The focus of the fund is to support the ALICE population experiencing hardship due to decreased hours or unpaid leave.
As COVID-19 impacts our nation, many food banks, food pantries, and meal programs are making changes to ensure the safety of visitors and the food they serve. A variety of low or no contact options are now available in many areas, including seniors-only hours, drive-through pantries, expanded home delivery services, and more.
Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.
Assistance is limited to a maximum of $9,000 per funeral and a maximum of $35,500 per application per state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
